Presented by Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), the 2016 edition of the XII urban environmental quality report. For all the 116 Italian provincial capitals it updates a set of core indicators for the analysis of environmental quality of the city and for the evaluation of the quality of life in Italian urban areas.

Several issues about environmental concern the urban scale are considered:

demographic factors,
land and territory,
green infrastructure,
water, air quality,
waste,
industrial activities,
transport and mobility,
exposure to pollution
electromagnetic and acoustic,
actions and tools for local sustainability.
